Powering the Outbound Fleet
The outbound shipping dock is where the digital world officially meets the asphalt. It is the loudest, most physical, and most critical bottleneck in the entire fulfillment process. As an Outbound Dock Worker, you are the muscle that ensures millions of packages make it onto the trucks before the dispatch cutoff times. If you are seeking highly demanding, high-energy warehouse jobs where you can skip the gym and get a full-body workout while building a formidable career in logistics, you belong on the dock.
The Physicality of the Dock
Working on the dock is not for the faint of heart. It is a rugged, industrial environment heavily exposed to the outdoor elements as massive dock doors open and close constantly to accommodate 53-foot semi-trailers. The pace is relentless, governed entirely by the strict departure schedules of our transportation partners.
Core Operational Duties
High-Volume Fluid Loading: You will manually build "walls" of boxes inside empty semi-trailers. This requires exceptional physical stamina as you continuously lift, twist, and stack packages tight to the trailer's ceiling, maximizing cubic volume and ensuring the load does not shift during highway transit.
Heavy Material Handling: You will safely operate heavy-duty manual pallet jacks and powered walkie-riders to transport massive, shrink-wrapped pallets weighing hundreds of pounds from the staging lanes directly into the outbound trucks.
Yard & Dock Safety: The dock is a high-traffic zone filled with moving machinery. You will strictly enforce the "Circle of Safety," ensuring all trailers are securely locked to the dock doors with glad-hands and wheel chocks before anyone enters the trailer.
The Compensation of Hard Work
We recognize the intense physical demands of the outbound dock, which is why these roles often feature some of the highest potential for overtime pay during peak holiday seasons. Alongside your highly competitive base hourly rate, you will receive full medical, vision, and dental insurance starting on your very first day of employment. You will also have access to Amazon's 401(k) matching program and generous paid time off. Candidates must be 18 years of age and possess the physical capability to continuously lift heavy objects in varying temperature conditions.
