WHAT YOU’LL DOWorking without appreciable supervision, leads and supports EHS programs and assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs/policies/practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and effective injury and illness prevention programs.Core Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>In support of site EHS team, coordinate and lead safety and health compliance activities, programs and prevention efforts.</li><li>Applies basic technical knowledge/skills to EHS programs and systems.</li><li>Support EHS programs in performing training, workplace incident investigations, inspections and internal audits as directed.</li><li>Support EHS programs in the management of hazardous waste activities as needed.</li><li>Develop and lead compliance training.</li><li>Review and maintain SDS database and site chemical inventories.</li><li>Supports EHS management in conducting reviews for facility modification, new product development, product modification and new equipment/machinery as directed.</li><li>On call for EHS emergencies (24/7).</li><li>Work under the direct supervision of the EHS Management, while independently working and solving day-to-day problems. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.</li><li>Supports EHS management in the maintenance of the facility’s Emergency Response and Fire Plans.</li><li>Supports EHS management in the gathering of data for the establishment of report metrics pertinent to EHS activities.</li><li>Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.</li><li>Conveys information effectively through formal and informal documents and meetings with team members.</li><li>Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGMinimum Education:<ul><li>Associates degree in related field is required.</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, science, or closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence.</li></ul>Minimum Experience / Training Required:<ul><li>1-2 years of experience is typical for this position</li><li>Previous internship experience preferred</li><li>Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.</li><li>Solid leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.</li><li>Solid verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.</li><li>Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.</li><li>Good organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.</li><li>Ability to travel approximately 10%, as needed.</li><li>Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.</li></ul>Apply NowLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: www.abbottbenefits.com.Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life. The base pay for this position is $81,500.00 – $141,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
