<p><strong>Freight Forwarding Key Account Manager</strong></p><p><strong>Location: Newark, New Jersey</strong></p><p><strong>Salary: Up to $130,000</strong></p><p>Metro Global USA is looking for an experienced <strong>Freight Forwarding Key Account Manager</strong> to join its growing team in New Jersey.</p><p>Powered by industry-leading technology, Metro delivers import and export air, ocean, and road freight forwarding, supply chain management, logistics, and specialist logistics services across sectors including retail, manufacturing, and chemicals.</p><p>This role will focus on the <strong>retention, development, and growth of Metro’s existing customer base across the US market</strong>, increasing share of wallet, strengthening strategic partnerships, and identifying new opportunities across the wider group.</p><p>You will work closely with business leaders in both the UK and USA, so strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence working across global teams and time zones are essential.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and expand relationships with assigned customers, divisions, and group companies</li><li>Act as the key link between Metro and its customers, championing both internally and externally</li><li>Manage customer expectations and ensure agreed actions are followed through</li><li>Lead regular customer review meetings, including MBRs and QBRs</li><li>Provide scheduled KPI reviews and share relevant market intelligence</li><li>Identify and secure inclusion in relevant RFI and RFQ opportunities</li><li>Own the RFI and RFQ process, working with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions</li><li>Resolve customer issues and complaints, including corrective action planning</li><li>Develop and maintain account plans, identifying current business share and growth opportunities</li><li>Promote and upsell Metro and wider group services, including MVT and Eco solutions</li><li>Support onboarding of new and additional business</li><li>Maintain accurate CRM updates, including meetings, opportunities, and key account information</li><li>Support credit control, account reconciliation, marketing campaigns, and customer entertainment</li></ul><p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum <strong>5 years’ experience</strong> in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management</li><li>Strong understanding of multi-modal freight operations, including air, ocean, and road</li><li>Knowledge of international trade and regulatory requirements, particularly across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia</li><li>Proven experience managing and growing key accounts in a freight forwarding or logistics environment</li><li>Strong track record in customer retention, upselling, and increasing wallet share</li><li>Experience with structured account planning, MBRs, QBRs, and long-term customer development</li><li>Experience managing RFI and RFQ processes</li><li>Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across countries, departments, and time zones</li><li>Comfortable using CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar</li><li>Commercially aware, with the ability to analyse account profitability and identify growth opportunities</li><li>Proactive, consultative, customer-focused, and solution-oriented approach</li><li>Willingness to travel regularly within the USA and internationally</li></ul><p><strong>Package and Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Salary up to <strong>$130,000</strong>, depending on experience</li><li>Health insurance offered from the <strong>1st of the month following 60 days of employment</strong></li><li>Silver Plan: company pays <strong>80% of employee premium</strong> and <strong>20% for dependents</strong></li><li>Gold Plan: company pays <strong>70% of employee premium</strong> and <strong>10% for dependents</strong></li><li>401(k) plan with automatic <strong>3% deferral after 1 year</strong></li><li>Company match of <strong>100% up to the first 3%</strong> of salary deferrals</li><li>Additional <strong>50% match on the next 2%</strong> of eligible compensation</li><li><strong>3 weeks’ vacation</strong> plus company holidays</li><li><strong>5 sick days</strong> and <strong>3 personal days</strong></li><li>Opportunity to join a senior team within a rapidly expanding logistics business</li></ul><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven <strong>Freight Forwarding Key Account Manager</strong> to play a key role in the continued growth of Metro’s US customer base and wider global network.</p><p><strong>Interested?
