Oncology Data Specialist II

<p><span style="color:black;font-size:14px;"><strong>This role is fully remote</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:black;">The Oncology Data Specialist II is responsible for abstracting and timely submission of cancer tumor registry</span><br><span style="color:black;">data for multiple UH hospitals.</span></p><p><span style="color:black;"><strong>What You Will Do</strong></span><br><span style="color:black;">• Conducts accurate and complete cancer case ascertainment according to the requirements of the</span><br><span style="color:black;">American College of Surgeons and the State of Ohio.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Codes, classifies and indexes stage of disease and treatment information. Runs audits to ensure quality</span><br><span style="color:black;">of cancer registry data.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Participates in the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) planning activities and</span><br><span style="color:black;">understands CoC standards.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Maintains a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from the date of diagnosis.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Maintains case follow up rate as required per CoC standards.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Assists in the training and mentoring of cancer registry employees.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Compiles reports based on registry data in response to requests from physicians and administration.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Advises researchers and clinicians on registry source data details.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Coordinates and participates in cancer registry special projects.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Meets department productivity and accuracy standards.</span></p><p><span style="color:black;"><strong>Additional Responsibilities</strong></span><br><span style="color:black;">• Performs other duties as assigned.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Complies with all policies and standards.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during</span><br><span style="color:black;">orientation.</span><br><span style="color:black;">• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for</span><br><span style="color:black;">our patients.
