Project Scientist - Robotics Institute
Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute is searching for a
Project Scientist to join their team. This is an exciting
opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and
challenging work environment.
We are seeking creative and energetic Project Scientist that
is responsible for determining priorities for project area based on
overall organizational goals. The incumbent will direct the work of
project members to ensure goals are achieved. Frequently presents
research findings to current or potential sponsors and at major
national or international conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as team leader, providing project management
direction.
- Contribute to research dissemination by assisting with
experiment design, data interpretation, figure generation,
technical documentation, and preparation of conference and journal
publications.
- Contributor in developing and documenting research findings and
collaborator in writing scientific papers.
- Lead research efforts within main goals of project, and help
coordinate interactions with other team members and
universities.
- Process, clean, edit, and analyze experimental data from
wearable sensors, video, physiological sensing systems, and motion
capture pipelines to support machine learning and computer vision
research.
- Propose and lead independent research goals within scope of
projects.
- Support multimodal human behavior research by conducting motion
capture sessions, collecting and organizing large-scale datasets,
and assisting with user study execution across laboratory and
real-world environments.
- Writing documentation, technical papers, progress reports and
participating in meetings/committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication
- Excellent Project Management Skills
- 5-8 Years of Research Experience
- OSHA - Hazardous Materials Safety Training
