About the Role The Senior Manager, Trade Compliance will lead the development and execution of MiniMed’s global trade compliance strategy as the company transitions to a fully independent organization. This role is responsible for enabling compliant, efficient, and cost effective global movement of MiniMed’s insulin pumps, CGMs, and accessories—ensuring uninterrupted patient access to life changing therapies worldwide. Reporting into Global Operations, this role partners closely with Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Tax, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, and key external partners to support TSA separation activities, global distribution, and new market expansion.
The role has a direct and visible impact on regulatory compliance, supply continuity, and operational cost optimization across the business. This position is remote with periodic domestic travel and select international markets (approximately 10–20%). The role reports to the Director, Global Trade Program Logistics.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Global Trade Compliance Leadership: Build and lead MiniMed’s standalone global trade compliance function, including policies, governance, and operating processes.
TSA Execution & Separation Support: Own the Trade Compliance TSA workstream, ensuring a smooth and compliant exit from Medtronic trade services by November 2027 with no patient supply disruption.
Compliance Strategy & Playbooks: Develop and implement global trade playbooks covering HTS classification, customs valuation, Incoterms, documentation, and audit readiness.
Importer of Record Strategy: Establish and optimize IOR structures across global markets, including regions without a local MiniMed legal entity.
Broker & Logistics Oversight: Manage customs brokers, POAs, and 3PL relationships to ensure efficient, compliant cross‑border operations.
Regulatory & Sanctions Compliance: Ensure adherence to import/export regulations, sanctions screening, export controls, Nairobi Protocol requirements, and FDA‑related trade obligations.
Cost Optimization: Drive duty mitigation, drawback programs, FTZ utilization, and routing optimization to deliver measurable cost savings. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Tax, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, and contract manufacturers to align global distribution and manufacturing flows.
Team Leadership: Build and develop a high‑performing Trade Compliance team to support MiniMed’s growth and global footprint.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume. Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of global trade compliance experience and 5+ years leadership experience OR Advanced degree and 5+ years of global trade compliance experience and 5+ years leadership experience Nice to Have MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field Trade compliance certifications (e.g., CUSECO, CCS, CES) Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated healthcare industries Direct experience supporting divestitures, TSA transitions, or corporate separations Strong working knowledge of SAP GTS, sanctions screening, and trade automation tools Experience working with contract manufacturers and global 3PL networks Demonstrated success driving duty savings, FTZ strategies, and trade process optimization The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
