Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Our client, a leading third-party logistics provider, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at their state-of-the-art facility in San Jose, California, US . This role is crucial for ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high standards of productivity, accuracy, and safety, and leading a dedicated team of warehouse associates. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse management systems, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse associates engaged in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods. Ensure all warehouse operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Monitor daily productivity, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to meet performance targets. Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution. Operate and oversee the use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, ensuring proper maintenance and safety. Train, coach, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Implement and enforce safety procedures, conduct safety training, and investigate any workplace accidents or incidents. Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, inventory control, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations. Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including receiving logs, shipping manifests, and inventory levels. Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency. Conduct performance reviews for warehouse staff and provide feedback for development. Assist in developing and managing operational budgets and controlling costs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Proven experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as operational needs dictate. Experience operating various types of warehouse equipment.
